Hope,... which whispered from Pandora's box after all the other plagues and sorrows had escaped, is the best and last of all things.
-Ian Caldwell
Where there's hope, there’s life. It fills us with fresh courage and makes us strong again.

Several years ago I enrolled in a Mythology course at a local college as part of my undergraduate studies. Instead of the usual term paper, my Professor assigned a creative project as our final exam. The last night of class the room came alive with paintings and poems, sculptures and stories, music and dance, It was an amazing evening. Then it was my turn.
I walked to the front of the room and placed a small, beautifully decorated box on the desk in front of me. I quietly told the story of Pandora-how she opened the box, however unwittingly and unleashed some terrible things into the world. I said I believed that unless we took action and made changes in our lives and in the lives of others, these terrible things would continue to spread. I asked everyone to think about that for a few moments. Then I asked them to to think about one terrible thing they wished hadn't come out of that box-one terrible thing they would rid the world of if they could. I took a small piece of paper from my pocket. I wrote down the word HATE and held it up for the class to see. Then I put hate into the box I had made. I then invited the rest of the class to write something down and put it back into the box. One by one, my classmates came forward-filling the box with hunger, racism, loneliness, poverty, jealousy, misogyny, hatred, intolerance, rape, abuse, disease and terrorism. Tears ran down my cheeks as this group of people-female, male, old, young, black, white, gay, straight-became one that evening.
I left that class with a profound sense of hope-a hope that stayed with me-a hope from which My Pandora Project was born. Since then, My Pandora Project has grown to a community of more than 10,000 followers around the world-all sharing love, light and hope with each other.
As long as we have hope, tomorrow waits. Come be a part of that hope...today.
